Carleton Place is conveniently location within day-tripping distance of many attractions within the Ottawa Valley, and just half an hour away from downtown Ottawa. There is an enormous variety of things to do locally all year round. Below is a taste of what can be found right on our doorstep.
Towns & Villages
We are blessed with a wonderful array of historic towns and villages nearby including Perth, Almonte, Pakenham, Westport and Arnprior, as well as the village of Carp just west of Ottawa. All offer terrific day trip options.
Outdoors & Sporting Attractions
We’re superbly positioned for holidays that include skiing (both downhill and cross-country at Mount Pakenham and in the nearby Gatineau Hills), snowshoeing, fishing, boating, swimming, skating, cycling, and much more.
A great calendar for local events across the Ottawa Valley can be found in the free arts and community newspaper, theHumm, and on its website.
